The Coronavirus Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme

On 26 May 2020, the Coronavirus Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme portal will open so employers can make a claim. This blog explains how you can find out if you are eligible and how you make a claim.

Who is eligible to claim?

Employers that are eligible to make claims for this scheme must have:

It is important to note that you can claim for the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme and the Coronavirus Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme for the same employee. However, the claim must not be for the same period for that employee.

How do you make a claim?

From 26 May 2020, you or your payroll provider can claim the SSP scheme on the Government Gateway. If you are making a claim yourself, you will need the following:
